Twenty Twenty Analytics 2011 Credit Union Blog Recap

The first year of the Twenty Twenty Analytics Blog is coming to a close. We know some of you joined us mid-year, so in case you missed it, below is a recap of some of our favorite posts from 2011.

Early in 2011 there were two webinars hosted by the NCUA. Twenty Twenty Analytics attended these webinars and gave you a recap in “Eight Things You Should Be Including In Your Allowance Calculation, and Probably Aren’t” and “Troubled Debt Restructurings and Mortgage Modifications.

We also discussed “Model Risk” which is the risk that management evaluation tools such as AVMs, credit scoring models or the Twenty Twenty Analytics Multi Dimensional Portfolio Analysis are not providing management with reliable or sufficient information to reach appropriate conclusions and ways to mitigate Model Risk.

Tying into the concept of model risk, Twenty Twenty Analytics Discussed “Selecting a Real Estate Valuation Model” which discusses the advantages and risks surrounding the hedonic and indexed methods of real estate valuation as well as using tax assessed values to arrive at real estate values.

If you are both a subscriber to our blog and a recipient of our E-Blasts, you know about the importance of Accounting Standards Update 2010-20 “Disclosures about the Credit Quality of Financing Receivables and the Allowance for Credit Losses.” If you are a client, you know that we have begun including these disclosures in our loan portfolio analyses. Client or not, Twenty Twenty Analytics Has Released a Full Length FASB Credit Quality Disclosure Example.

As Multi Dimensional Portfolio Analysis Service Providers, we believe have looked at the information our analysis provides from every direction. Although extremely important, we know that mitigating risk and complying with NCUA regulations is probably not what gets you out of bed in the morning. To appeal to your entrepreneurial side, Twenty Twenty Analytics wrote “Phase II – Using Multi-Dimensional Portfolio Analysis to Grow Your Loan Portfolio.

We hope you have enjoyed yourselves and learned from reading our posts as much as we have enjoyed writing them. We are looking forward to great things in 2012 for Twenty Twenty Analytics and the Twenty Twenty Analytics Blog!

Happy Holidays!
